Nice atmosphere, helpful staff (m... read more We found this bar/restaurant after traipsing round Matera for the most of the evening and was really glad we chose this place. Nice atmosphere, helpful staff (mostly...the lady who we thought might be the owner/manageress had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp... , great food menu and even better drinks menu. They even had my favourite Belgian beer which had to be tried of course! My youngest son ventured out and had the octopus sandwich which, it turns out, was a whole octopus....in a sandwich...get that!! He ate most of it and took the rest home which our waitress happily boxed up for us along with the mashed potato and gruyere bruschetta I couldn’t finish. I had a chicken salad which was one of the best salads I’ve had whilst I’ve been in Italy and my eldest had a beef sandwich. This was a little undercooked for my liking but my son loved it. The end bill was surprisingly low and I was pleased to leave our waitress a tip as she was most helpful. We arrived just after 7:00pm and we were the only ones sitting inside the restaurant with a couple of tables taken outside. By the time we left, all tables were full and a real good atmosphere. I would recommend visiting Mosto for a really reasonably priced unusual meal and great beer.

Everything we tried was exceptionally tasty. Recommended!
