Kapunto - MATERA

We were in a huge hurry, we had only 30 mins to eat and join our tour group (which had taken a break for lunch). The chef Tommaso was very understanding and reassured us that he would prepare our meal as fast as possible. My family and I (3 of us) decided to order the same pasta with exactly the same sauce to save time. We ordered the Cime di rapa e peperoncini cruschi, recommended by the chef and also the fresh carrots. Both were outstanding! The bread was also very good. We will definitely return if we visit Matera!

Even though they do not cater at vegans specifically, they have a few dishes that are plant based. I had fave e cicorie (fava bean purée with sautéed chicory leaves), a staple from the region, and typical fresh orecchiette pasta with tomato sauce and basil. The local bread is also delicious. Friendly staff and quick service.

Pasta fresca estremamente buona. Possibile prendere pasta semplice o ripiena. La maggior parte delle paste sono vegetariane, ma ci sono paste fresche anche vegane (non all'uovo). I sughi sono principalmente vegetariani, ma scelte vegane sono disponibili. Antipasto splendido, abbiamo preso un antipasto per due, dosi abbondanti e buonissimo.

Extremely good fresh pasta. can take simple or stuffed pasta. most of the pasta is vegetarian, but there are also fresh non vegan egg pasta. sauces are mainly vegetarian, but vegan choices are available. great appetizer, we took a starter for two, abundant and delicious doses.
