Overnight in matera, we wanted to have dinner in an outside place that had a view of the matera stones. Unfortunately several locals, were not open, and we opted for this restaurant that according to some indications, is located in a privileged position for the view of the stones. we found place outside, of course the panorama you see it a little from afar, it is not to be astonished on the old town, unfortunately the road cuts in two the restaurant and the background. dinner without infamy and without praise. we ordered a lucan appetizer, based on tastes between aubergines to the parmigiana, caponata, and other tastes, good, but exceptional in my opinion, served in small separate portions, which in my opinion would be better served in a single dish. we then added two first: sausage ears (pococotta, and thick coarsely) with tomatoes.ì, and another first with dried tomatoes. all to € per head, that if the dishes had been satisfactory, there is... but without infamy and without praise, I would not return
The restaurant offers a fine menu of local dishes as well as pizza. despite the turnout, the staff was quick in the command, even if a little quick in explaining the dishes, but as I said, there were many people. slow instead the times for dessert and coffee but it is served to enjoy a little of the cool evening
We paid for coperto, that we didn’t even received. Too expensive for restaurant that you even have to pour your own wine. Pizza was good but whole experience was not worth it
They gave us a table at the entrance, even if the table were available. The waiters were always around us like soldiers and we didn’t feel comfortable to talk about the food and other things. Wr paid €19 for a 1 person antipasto and it was nothing special (5 mini portions of carbs… so for them cost 0). I asked for a simple blond and light beer and them advice was a beer with a flower taste which I hated. For 1 antipasto, 1 puccia, 1 beer and 1 glass of wine we paid €60. It is expensive for quality and the service
Friends of ours ate here last year and highly recommended the restaurant. We were looking forward to a great dinner. We ordered pizza and a first course. We had eaten a very large lunch earlier. The waiter returned to our table and said that “his boss wouldn’t let us order one pizza for two people” but strangely, we could order one pizza and and the fried peppers so that’s what we did. The peppers were greasy, unlike the ones we had eaten at lunchtime. The interior of the pizza crust was very wet-I think the liquid from the burrata had leaked. We ate a little of the crust and scraped off the cheese, bacon and greens and finished those parts, leaving the dough on our plates. The restaurant wasn’t busy—there were people at only five of six tables. When the waiter asked how our pizza was,, we told him. He said he was sorry. It was a very disappointing dinner. The room, however, is very nice but that doesn’t excuse the food.
