Angry Barbeque - Massillon
Angry Barbeque
Description
Nestled in a spacious, stylish setting, this barbecue spot garners mixed reactions. Many praise its tender, flavorful meats—especially the brisket—and surprisingly strong vegetarian options for a BBQ joint. Sauces receive consistent compliments, though some desire more variety. Service is often described as friendly but slow, with notable waits even during quiet times. While some diners find the sides inconsistent and certain dishes underwhelming, others celebrate the generous portions and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, it’s a charming place with standout food, though patience may be required. Ideal for casual visits, but some caution against expecting quick service or flawless fare.

The highlight of both meals was the meat, but it was served more lukewarm than hot. The sauces were excellent. However, the service was average, primarily due to the long wait for the food. Our server didn't check on us at all, and we had to wait a good 15 minutes for our meals despite the restaurant not being busy. On the positive side, the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return or recommend this place.
I visited this restaurant while in town to see family, and I must say I was quite disappointed. The baked beans were dry and not enjoyable at all. The baby back ribs had no flavor and seemed unseasoned. My son's cheeseburger had barely any cheese on it. Overall, we were quite frustrated with our experience. To make matters worse, the service was slow. I would recommend avoiding this place altogether; the beans tasted like they came straight from a can.
The waitress was attentive and delivered good service. However, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations; I've definitely had better. The atmosphere was pleasant, cozy, and comfortable. I might consider coming back for drinks, but I think I’ll pass on the food next time.
The comments about slow service are accurate. My family visited on a quiet Sunday with only a handful of other customers, yet it still took around 45 minutes from ordering to receiving our food. However, the staff were friendly, and the food arrived hot and tasted great. Surprisingly, they offer good vegetarian options for a BBQ place in a smaller town.
The atmosphere at Angry Barbeque is charming, but sadly, the food fell short of our expectations. The menu was confusing to navigate. We ordered the chicken and dumplings, which was supposed to come with two sides, but were later informed there was an additional $6 charge for them. Some of the dishes were overcooked, and the rolls were very dry. My husband discovered a bone in his chicken, and mine contained quite a bit of gristle. I truly hope they can improve, as it’s a great addition to Massillon.
