We saw some negative reviews and were somewhat nervous that it would be a crash. We were pleasantly surprised! It was a rainy day, so many other restaurants had closed kitchens but not Castaway! Natalia, our server, was very relaxed and friendly with us. Our food came out so fast. The steak sandwich was incredible, and the shrimp tacos (of which spicy) were disgusting. Would recommend. We came across some negative reviews, which made us a bit apprehensive about our visit. However, we were pleasantly surprised! It was a rainy day, and many other restaurants had closed their kitchens, but Castaway remained open. Our server, Natalia, was laid-back and friendly. Our food arrived quickly, and the steak sandwich was amazing. Unfortunately, the spicy shrimp tacos were disappointing. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant.
I frequently visit this place for wing night on Mondays, but their entire menu is fantastic as well. Recently, we held a birthday party for nine adults, and it was absolutely perfect. You won't find anything better on Fire Island!
Wow! We had an incredible evening at Castaways. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was unmatched. It's impressive how well they manage through a challenging summer with a tight labor market. The staff are wonderful—thoughtful, attentive, friendly, and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better night out! Thank you!
