Reviews - Shellys Cafe
Reviews summary
Shelly’s serves hearty, homestyle Irish comfort food at wallet-friendly prices — think big portions, classic breakfasts, roast and corned beef, take-home staples like Taytos, and family-sized trays. Patrons love the nostalgic, comforting dishes, convenient parking and wheelchair access. Recent staff turnover has introduced inconsistent service, occasional order errors, extra condiment charges and some menu shortages near closing. Great value for families, casual diners and hangover cures, but expect variable service and shorter hours.

I'll go 4 days a week. Stop the most delicious food there. So tasteful, fresh and reasonable price The selection is impressive. Try the carrots and parrots. Unbelievable!! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Shellys Cafe:
They Charged extra $1 for mayo and ketchup on a Egg and Cheese sandwich...Wasn 't even there...Nothing like opening the sandwich hungry, ready to enjoy and not having it the way you ordered : PRICELESSSandwich was ok but nothing to out of this world...I 'll def pay $5.00 for an egg and cheese but somewhere where they follow instructions.Meh...*Not worth it**I was super excited to go to the place where they have good... Rounding up from a 3.5 here. I ordered lunch for St. Paddy's Day today. The food was good, but rounding up to a 4 because it's a pretty good value for the amount of food you get. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage with champ and a slice of the Shepards pie. The food certainly wasn't light, but I decided to indulge a little more since it was a holiday. I also got a side of the cole slaw. The corned beef was good, not too fatty. The champ was very rich and buttery. And the shepards pie was good, but the mashed potatoes were a bit drier on this one. The cole slaw was a bit too mayo-heavy for my taste, but that's personal preference. All in all, a pretty good meal!
This restaurant used to be great, but unfortunately, it has declined over the past two years due to staff changes. My mom and I went for dinner and called ahead to inquire about the menu since they were closing at 6 PM. We arrived at 5:30 PM, only to find one of the chefs starting to put food away just as we were about to order. My mom informed him that we were planning to have dinner, but he ignored her and continued clearing the mashed potatoes, vegetables, and more. When the server finally came to take our order, there was hardly anything available because they claimed it was because they were closing soon. It was only 5:30! This is unacceptable. I used to frequent this place regularly, but I won't be returning.
**Kid-friendliness:** All their dishes are kid-friendly, much like the meals moms used to make back in Ireland. **Parking:** There are plenty of local parking spots available. **Wheelchair accessibility:** The place is accessible with a flat surface and no stairs.

I love this place. Prefabricated food is delicious and cheap. We are a family of 5 and you can feed tin of the Maische Potatoes and tin of the Maische Beet along enough chicken to feed the family for under $30. Cheaper and way tastier as fast food. I also get my Pats Pan bread, the family lives it. And my Irish sausage, puddings and rashes. And would be incomplete if you don't pick up a bag of Taytos and Irish Chocolate.
Thanksgiving dinner was so delicious. Turkey soup and dessert (selection of 3) included. Apple cake was delicious as turkey soup. Also at $25.
