Burkes Pub - Maspeth

This neighborhood bar is unwelcoming and only serves Irish-born patrons. The bartenders are extremely rude to those who aren't Irish, which is disrespectful to the rest of us in the neighborhood. As a local and Irish American, I find this behavior unacceptable. This is not an isolated incident. If you don't have an Irish accent, you will be treated as if you don't belong. If you want to avoid confrontation, steer clear of this establishment.

This New York bar is amazing! The people, service, drinks, and atmosphere are all top-notch. We initially planned to stop in for just one drink, but ended up staying for several. We met some wonderful locals, including Glen and Martyn, which made our trip from the UK even more memorable. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed endless martinis and G&Ts. It's a must-visit spot! Thanks to the staff for a great experience. - Sally, June, Alex, Gemma, and Leia, as we were on our way to the airport to fly back home.

I visited this restaurant with a friend after brunch. She is a regular here and introduced me to some very friendly and open-minded people. Despite just having water due to severe allergies, the bartender was accommodating. Fortunately, the restaurant has changed ownership and is now called Bukowski. There is a patio out back for smoking and enjoying the sunshine. Time flies inside as people will buy you a drink because they are so welcoming. It is a great neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name. Cheers!

I am very happy that I was able to experience this pub. I was getting mixed reviews from family members so I decided to have my go at this restaurant. I graduated the day before I came here and I wanted to have a good meal for my graduation dinner with many of my family members. They did not meet any of my standards.the drinks took probably 35 minutes to come out and I ordered an burger and it came out as a beyond burger. I 'm gonna be honest. One of the worst burgers I 've ever had. I don 't know if it was because of the beyond burger or it 's just the burgers here but I personally didn 't like it. The service here was less than acceptable and I found that most of the stuff me and my family ordered either came out wrong or at the wrong time. I understand that it is covid times but there was literally no people in the restaurant. Me and my family ordered calamari for our appetizer. Two of them to be specific. And one came out in the beginning and one came out at the end. Personally I did not like this pub/restaurant. Your views may be different but every time I go to a place to eat I can tell if they are a good establishment or not. I came here on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 and I understand it is hot outside. But does the restaurant/pub have to be 95 degrees. The server that I had was nice and gave us 15%. That was the only good part.
