Outstanding BBQ and the guy who helped us choose our meats was unbelievably kind and friendly. They take pride in their food and customer service and it shows. PRO TIP: get extra sauce not the stuff on the table, the juicy stuff in the warmer in the back. View all feedback.
What Sébastien Dufour doesn't like about Cooper's Original Pit -b-q:
absolutely terrible. brisket was super dry and hard. I asked the pitmaster if I could get more bc, it was super dry. he brought back something and asked if it looked better. I said it was, but once I had to look through it with my knife, I knew it wasn't. I'm used to crush meat you can cut with your fork. prices are too expensive. $6.95 for a very small salad is ridiculous. 1/3 pound brisket, kartoffel salad with ? a... View all feedback.
Best beef ribs I've ever had! Can't wait to come again next time we drive through that town!
My fiance cooks BBQ for competition, so I am a little pampered to say the least. He loves to go to places he reads about, and I get together to day. Well, since I'm not from here, he'll show all his knowledge. So he takes the Coopers in NB and everything I'm gonna say I never went back. It's more than 4 years. We came from the Palo Duro Canyon for the weekend and really wanted something bbq. Bill tells me that in Mason the original is, so I gave up and I'm glad I did. Nobody makes it better than the original. You never had to have brisket, but the chicken and the sausage was worth the stop. If I want Coopers, I'll go to Mason. We came a little before graduation and the young man worked on nice and informativeand. Thank you for being faithful to your roots.
Can't go to Mason without bringing home barbecue from this place. Plus Pam and Lindell are lovely, lovely people!!
I had lunch there yesterday. I was greeted as soon as I exited ny car and offered a visual tour of the active pit. He explained which meat was which, pointed to an easy to read wooden sign that had prices posted per pound, and explained that the meat was priced by the pound, not the plate. I chose the pork loin brisket and he placed his knife at different thicknesses to help me choose how hungry I was. Once inside the building, he explained what sides and drinks were available, but that the beans were free. He weighed the meat and the cashier rang it up quickly. Loafs of bread (commercial sliced bread) were on the table, along with a roll of paper towels, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, etc.. I will stop back in for lunch on future trips thru Mason on my way to Brady.
This place is very good. And the young men working were very nice and polite to my whole team when we stopped for lunch.
