My wife and I really enjoyed Amici. You apparently should get a reservation. We got super lucky and were able to snag a table right when they opened. She got the Chicken Parm and I got a Butternut Squash and Bacon pizza on the gluten free crust (cauliflower/parmesan). Both were fantastic! Great atmosphere and service. We will be back when we are back in the area. View all feedback.
What Jeffery Montgomery doesn't like about Amici:
Absolutely delicious. The staff was so friendly and helpful with the menu and suggestions. The pizza we got was made to order and it was amazing. Will absolutely return. View all feedback.
We ate here this evening and had the summer panzanella, crab/bacon risotto, and the mushroom pizza. Panzanella needed seasoning, the only redeeming quality was the burrata. I was stunned when the risotto came out and almost didn’t want to eat it because of the way it looked. It didn’t seem any care at all was put into the presentation and I could overlook that but with a $34 meal you expect it to be better than mediocre. The Benton’s bacon should have been cooked separately so it wasn’t a soggy mess. I don’t know how you mess up crab but it was blah. The risotto was not creamy. I actually had frozen grocery store risotto this week for a quick meal and it was better. The pizza was ok, the sauce wasn’t great but the sourdough crust was good. Overall for a $100 meal I left knowing I could have made it better at home which is always disappointing. You won’t have a bad meal but you won’t be blown away either. The environment is also really loud.
A party of three of us ate there for dinner. We had a different pizza each. All three of the pizzas were good. I had a thin crust margherita pizza. The pizza base was great, thin with a bubbly crust. the toppings tasted great but was a little lacking in basil. There was maybe a half leaf of basil per slice. My wife had the peach and prosciutto pizza which tasted incredible but she got it on a focaccia base. The focaccia base was light and fluffy but didn 't quite work with the pizza toppings on it.The sound levels in the restaurant were unbelievably loud. I could not hear a word anyone else at our table was saying. My wife was sat next to me and I couldn 't make out what she was saying half the time. Conversation included a lot of yelling what? . The noise didn 't come from music because there was none. It was the other customers making all the noise. Nobody was being particularly noisy but it all added up. My watch said that it hit 81 decibels in there. It averaged about 80 decibels. Having been a professional musician I know a thing or two about sound. Every surface in the restaurant was hard; floors, walls and ceiling. It seems like they need some sound conditioning to deaden the excess noise. Some curtains or drapes, some sort of fabrics or maybe even some sound deadening tiles on the ceiling or walls. The noise level completely ruined any ambience the restaurant has. My ears are literally ringing loudly right now. They haven 't rung this much since I saw Megadeth back in 1987.I recommend the food but go when it is not busy or get it to go.
Cute atmosphere and a bit out of the busy part of Maryville. Cool drink menu. The food is cool, but quite expensive, in my opinion. Our server was super kind, but he kept forgetting to get our drinks from the bar. Also, getting food took forever. We ordered before they were packed... It took at least 45 mins to get 6 dishes. The salmon was good, but nothing special. Landlocked state means it's likely to have a fishy smell to it--so you have to adjust expectations. The appetizer smothered rolls were fantastic! The food was good, but not worth the cost. We had a nice friend dinner, but I don't know that we'd frequent the restaurant. Very clean inside with kind staff, though.
Very friendly, upscale casual, fresh food menu is not overwhelming, but it's inventive. And if for dinner reason you don't like gnocchi (delish! Or rigatoni (delish you can always order a pizza! They look fantastic!
