They take... read more The drive from Smith Mountain Lake to this fabulous restaurant is well worth it..... I have Celiac Disease, wheat, rye, barley and gluten intolerance. They take great care in preparing my food and drinks. Prices are moderate. Food is the BEST OF THE BEST!

From the friendly wel... read more I haven't been in Martinsville for too long, but I was recommended to try Third Bay Cafe, and I must say, we were not disappointed at all! From the friendly welcome from the owner to the attentive service from our waitress, everything was wonderful. The food was fantastic as well! We tried the salmon and the hamburger steak, both of which were delicious. However, the true highlight was the mini crab cakes we ordered as an appetizer—wow, they were amazing! We will certainly be returning. Thank you!

While we usually get takeout rather than dining in, the food has always been great—except for one time when my husband ordered the shrimp and grits. That dish was a letdown; the ratio of grits to shrimp was off, as it was mostly grits with very little shrimp. Given the price, it was especially disappointing. Overall, though, the food is usually quite good.
