**A Mixed Bag Experience at Rafferty's: A Dive Bar Dilemma**
Rafferty's has garnered a blend of opinions, revealing both charm and concern. While some appreciate its dive bar atmosphere and enticing menu, including rave reviews of its crispy pizza and skilled bartenders, others highlight uncomfortable experiences, particularly for women. Accusations of theft over a jukebox mishap painted a troubling picture for first-time visitors. Despite its lively crowd and friendly service, the establishment's basement setting may not appeal to everyone. Ultimately, while some may revel in its unique character, others recommend exploring alternative venues for a more welcoming experience.

Pool ???? tables were removed during Covid to fit more tables. I could play for drinks...no more ????
My friend and I had chose a song from the jukebox and didn?t know you had to wait for the song you chose to play, so we went up to the bartender thinking it ate our money.. it didn?t but she had accused us of stealing 2 dollars?. My first time there and itwas the worst, won?t be going there again, definitely would recommend the roadhouse or another bar and not this place
Raf's never fails to impress. A good friend of mine manages the restaurant, and the owner, Mike Gibbons, is a truly great person. The food is consistently outstanding with each visit. The bar offers a fantastic atmosphere, making it a favorite hangout for locals, but everyone is welcome—just make sure you can secure a seat! The bartenders are excellent and always attentive to customers. I highly recommend trying the BLTs, and you can't go wrong with the chicken sandwiches—they're just as tasty! Enjoy your visit!
I'm giving this place one star due to the incredibly condescending and rude behavior of the guy at the door who was checking IDs. My ID photo is from about four years ago when I had purple hair and wasn’t wearing glasses. When he examined my ID, he shot me a judgmental look, making it clear he doubted I was the same person. Since then, I've changed my hair to brown and now wear glasses, so I slightly lifted my glasses to confirm it was me. Instead of addressing my ID, he asked in an annoyingly condescending tone, "Does the DMV know you need glasses? It says no restrictions here." I passed my vision test when I got my license; while I might not see perfectly at a distance, I can still see just fine. Then he proceeded to bend my license, which felt invasive, and did the same to the others in my group. I felt very uncomfortable and disrespected by his rudeness and unnecessary questioning. His role was simply to verify if we were 21 or older, not to interrogate our ability to drive. After this experience, I will definitely not be coming back.
My friend and I chose a song from the jukebox, not realizing we would have to wait for it to play. When we approached the bartender, thinking the machine had swallowed our money, she surprisingly accused us of stealing two dollars! It was my first visit, and I had a really unpleasant experience. I definitely won't be coming back and would recommend checking out the Roadhouse or another bar instead. This place just isn't worth it.
