The cafe is on the top floor and we decided to go for a coffee. On arrival we were really pleasantly surprised. It’s more a restaurant and a good one. Very bright and airy with views over the Bassin de La Grande Joliette (docks at the beginning of the entrance to the old Vieux Port) and Mucem. We decided to stay for a meal. The service was impeccable as was the food. The fish du jour was nicely presented and really tasty. Probably the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in a gallery or museum. Worth a visit.

French service... read more Vapid green tea served with tasteless cakes so called “gourmet tea”. Industrial spinach pie and fruits freshly poured from their can. What else ? French service which makes you feel obtrusive ‘cos cashing in is so much important than welcoming the customer! Therefore one conclusion: run away !

This time I was alone, ordered turbot, which was served partly uncooked. The interior was raw. I told the staff which took it out, cooked it and served it again. No excuse, no nothing. I give my two points for the view. Love it!

Better still, the food was excellent, no pre- or defrosted anything, copious, well presented and served by a friendly and attentive staff. Even the boys ' sandwiches were custom made, personalized by a competent chef, exquisite. Considering we ate plenty and well, had drinks, bottle of wine and coffee, this was the steal of our three days in Marseille. Totally underrated.

The A/C needs to be cleaned up a little bit as there were weird smells in the restaurant when the A/C was activated. The menu stated a “fondant au chocolat” but instead we had more like an “Opéra”. Overall: really nice restaurant with good food and awesome service.
