An ideal place to discover an important part of Marcel Pagnol's life, you can take a nice walk in the well-kept park. The castle has a museum part, a ludothèque, a cinema and an outdoor in the enclosure there is a restaurant, or you would better book in advance. What josief643 doesn't like about Les Nouvelles Tables Du Chateau:
After the visit of the castle and the wonderful theatrical walk of my mother's castle we approached the restaurant for lunch and there we were received as intruders by the boss! Horrible, unpleasant, which sounded a bit after the wonderful time we had spent with the actors of the show Go a little further near the shopping center there is a nice and cheap restaurant at all View all feedback.

Today, I visited the Parc des Sept Collines also known as the Buzine Park where Marcel Pagnol Castle is located, the castle park is a beautiful green setting but above all very quiet, despite the nearby shopping district, an ideal health path for confirmed or not sports, in the middle of nature but away from pollution, do not waste time a superb ride to make with family. Ahah I forgot that you can always be shaved at the restaurant
The castle of the Buzine corresponds to the castle of my mother described by Pagnol in his childhood memories. It was completely renovated in 2013 on the occasion of Marseille Capital of Culture. The place is a bit excited in the center of Marseille but you can go by taking public transport: bus No. 51 from Valentine's shopping centers. On the ground floor, the City of Cinema is a permanent exhibition on the history of cinema. There are also regular permanent exhibitions on the greats of the 7th art and Culture. I have already seen the exhibitions on Charles Aznavour and Gaby Deslys, a star of the music hall of the early twentieth century, from Marseille. I loved the last exhibition dedicated to Marcel Pagnol: very interesting with archival photos, a reconstruction of the film the Woman of the Baker and the office of Pagnol, his academy costume and his César of Honour, movie posters... The castle is surrounded by a nice park. And there is also a small restaurant that offers the possibility to sit in the courtyard and enjoy the generous rays of the sun.
The Château de la Buzine is located between Saint Menet and the Camoins in the 11th arrondissement of Marseille. Marcel Pagnol made him known about his childhood memories, it's my mother's famous Château. In addition, he will later become the owner. It includes a cinema, a museum with permanent and temporary exhibitions, a large park and several hiking trails that allow you to immerse yourself in the Spanish world. What I appreciate in this place borrows from Marcel Pagnol is this mix of culture and nature. For my part, what I preferred is to walk with my friends in the paths of this castle. We crossed the park and walked the path that goes to the Château de la Reynarde which is a former feudal estate on the road from Aubagne to Valentine) and which became a children's house in social difficulty and we returned the reverse road. This path is a true return to nature in a rural setting, we crossed beautiful trees, some of which are centenary and a very pretty fountain. Nice day to spend with family or friends. Dogs are accepted. Free parking.
After a visit to the castle of the Buzine, we settled on the terrace of the restaurant. A pleasant setting with a perfectly cooked plate.
