Me and my parter visited this restaurant after reading very good reviews already and it did not disappoint!! We arrived just after it opened and were the only people in there. We were welcomed by a very pleasant man, who made good conversation and asked us about where we had travelled from. Service was very quick and the food was so delicious. What Peter Morgan doesn't like about Tapas Rojas:
I have no idea how this place has so many positive reviews. If i was ranking on just food, this place would barely get 1/5. Everything is just deep fried. You would get better at a local take away. Croquettes weren't edible. Bravas is deep fried but the sauce is nice. Calamari is below average. Fried chicken is worse than street food. The owner is very nice and friendly and seems like a lovely guy but i think even he... View all feedback.
Went here at 8pm on 20 June as it was near where we were staying wish we hadn’t bothered! The place was totally empty and the short menu uninspiring and we should have gone with our gut instinct and left. We ordered some calamari very strange flavour and Patatas with garlic and parsley which were very oily and had been refried. No Spanish beer available but a decent (and large) glass of rose was the only good part of the experience. I can’t understand the good reviews and could not recommend this place at all.
We have been coming to Tapas Rojas since 2017 after reading an article in NYT. Terrific food and last evening the once again perfect. So sweet while the owner was in Spain buying supplies his amazing 18-year-old daughter took over A must-place to visit when in Marseille. Jack and Maryanne USA
The restaurant is on a side street with no other restaurants. Good authentic food and pleasant service by owner. Inexpensive. Would go back again if in the area.
Me and my parter visited this restaurant after reading very good reviews already and it did not disappoint!! We arrived just after it opened and were the only people in there. We were welcomed by a very pleasant man, who made good conversation and asked us about where we had travelled from. Service was very quick and the food was so delicious. The prices were very good considering the high quality of the food we received alongside a jug of the best sangria we have had. The restaurant itself is clean and has a very good vibe. It is a bit of a hidden gem as it is tucked away but if you are in Marseille Tapas Rojas is definitely a place you have to go to!!! Would 100% return if we are ever in Marseille again
