The place was totally empty and the short menu uninspiring and we should have gone with our gut instinct and left. We ordered some calamari very strange flavour and Patatas with garlic and parsley which were very oily and had been refried. No Spanish beer available but a decent (and large) glass of rose was the only good part of the experience. I can’t understand the good reviews and could not recommend this place at all.

We arrived just after it opened and were the only people in there. We were welcomed by a very pleasant man, who made good conversation and asked us about where we had travelled from. Service was very quick and the food was so delicious. The prices were very good considering the high quality of the food we received alongside a jug of the best sangria we have had. The restaurant itself is clean and has a very good vibe. It is a bit of a hidden gem as it is tucked away but if you are in Marseille Tapas Rojas is definitely a place you have to go to!!! Would 100% return if we are ever in Marseille again
