What an amazing find in Marsala. The location is just outside Porta Nova. It is a small simple place with excellent food. I wanted to try everything and eat too much. View all feedback.
What Lorenzo Barbieri doesn't like about Assud Porta Nuova Osteria:
Very bad dining experience. We came after 7pm and were told the place opens at 7.30pm and booking was required. The waiter said it was almost all booked out for the night but one table was still available for us. We came back at 7.30 sharp then waited for 15 minutes before the doors opened. We were the only customers until 8.22pm when the second table was occupied. The antipasta was average, but the mains were terrib... View all feedback.

Simple but sexy flavors. Mainly seafood as you can expect with generous portions. Friendly staff. Don't miss the appetizers... probably the best part of our meal there.
Lovely, cosy spot with super friendly (and English speaking) staff. Highly recommend!
Small, genuine trattoria. Competent service, short menu (which is a good sign). Prices are reasonable, and even wine suggestions were interesting and at the same reasonable price point as the rest of the menu. Need a reservation.
The good: price is quite reasonable for the portions their house white was surprisingly good, very unique taste in a great way the octopus starter is an incredible dish, almost melt in your mouth tenderness is very rare for octopus. the black rice ball was pretty good also Service was r ally good and I thought we were in for a great meal by the enthusiastic suggestions from our waitress food was piping hot The bad: the pasta was really bad for both dishes, for a cafeteria or Ikea restaurant it would have been passable but to serve soggy bloated noodles in Italy is saddening. we tried both the sword fish busiate and clams pasta at our waitresses suggestion and they were terrible. My wife really loves clams so she could get it down but for me the clams pasta was soggy and salty and had a weird sauce that tasted like it came out of a packet. The busiate on the other hand had only the flavour of soggy and nothing else. Also in a weird sauce that I think might have been from a packet. the entre of swordfish was actually a great cut of fish with good tenderness to the meat but was inedibly salty. from the reviews I’m hoping that our food just sat for far too long under a heat lamp to make the sauces taste incredibly salty, otherwise I’m sad to say the majority of the food was ill prepared, which is a shame as they had good ingredients to work with. also on a side not to have an air conditioner and not use it on a warm night comes off cheap, there is nothing worse than being boiling hot while eating indoors.
