Warm inviting pub with a great outdoor space. The location is very nice as well. Lots of locals across all ages. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The beer is standard commercial and on the week abv side. I had the signature fish and chips 3/5. Sadly average. It was accompanied by a brown curry sauce that is super good 5/5.

Fireplaces and cozy seating inside... read more This pub has so much to offer. 1. A giant outdoor area behind the pub. 2. Close to the train station. 3. Blue Moon on tap. 4. Fireplaces and cozy seating inside. As an American expat leaving near Marlow, I frequent this pub for the simple fact that they have Blue Moon on tap. Blue Moon can be found at ripoff prices in supermarkets but why buy it at the shop when you can enjoy a glass at a pub? I have never eaten at the Marlow Donkey and probably never would unless I was really hungry and in that case, would order a basket of chips (aka fries). The food is priced as though it is general pub food which is scary as I have had far too many bad experiences with pub food.

After a walk in the countryside, we were turned away by several other pubs before finally ending up here. It’s a Greene King pub, complete with ales that reflect that reputation. They claimed to have local guest ales, but unfortunately, those were unavailable. The food was rather bland, although it was reasonably priced. The service felt somewhat brusque and overwhelmed, leaving me puzzled as to why this place is so off the beaten path (and even off the OS map). Overall, it's decent, but nothing more than that.
