Wendy's - Markham

I had an enjoyable experience with their delicious beef burger, and I really liked having the option to replace the French fries with roasted potatoes—a nice change from what you typically find at fast-food restaurants. The staff were generally friendly and service was decent. I ordered through the drive-thru, but there was a bit of a mix-up with my order, and I ended up being charged more than I expected. Fortunately, the supervisor was very kind and patient while processing the refund, even though it was only a three-dollar difference. As for their kid-friendliness, the kids' meal was great, and the toy that came with it was quite attractive to my little one.

One of the best affordable fast-food choices around! Wendy's has made significant strides and has positioned itself as a leading burger chain in the fast-food sector. This is evident in their revenue per restaurant, as Wendy's surpasses both Burger King and McDonald's in burger quality and sales. This location is my favorite for burgers, particularly because the food is always fresh!

I had a very frustrating experience with the customer service at this restaurant. I placed a pick-up order through DoorDash and went to the drive-thru to collect it, only to find myself stuck in a long line. When I finally reached the front, I was informed that I couldn’t pick up my order there. I had to go inside the restaurant, where the employee struggled to locate my order. When I inquired about why the drive-thru wasn’t an option for pick-up, she told me it was reserved for their in-house customers only. This was confusing, especially since I had already paid for my order. The employee could have communicated this information more effectively. Additionally, the DoorDash app didn't mention that I needed to pick up my order inside rather than at the drive-thru.

I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time, but I kept postponing it. I've been a regular at this Wendy's for years because I truly enjoy their food. However, after my experience tonight, I've decided to switch to a different location. The staff here is consistently unfriendly, which really detracts from the overall experience. When I asked the girl at the counter if my straw was in the bag, she practically snarled at me. I wouldn't have asked if missing items from my order weren't such a frequent issue. It seems like the team here is always stressed and unhappy. This doesn’t appear to be just a few employees with a poor attitude; it feels like a larger problem. Unfortunately, the service I received tonight was nearly as disappointing as my salad.

I ordered through the drive-thru, so I can't say much about the atmosphere. However, I did notice that the parking lot was clean! The food was what you'd expect from a fast-food restaurant, and it was satisfactory. A few of the fries looked a bit overcooked, but it wasn't a big deal.
