Despite some service issues and a couple of negative experiences, Congee Dynasty offers a cozy spot in Chinatown with a wide variety of congee options and delicious Chinese dishes. The decor is traditional, the staff is friendly and prompt, and the food is generally good with ample parking available. The menu is extensive and includes options like Peking duck and sweet and sour soup at affordable prices. While there may have been a few hiccups noted in service and food quality, overall, diners seem to enjoy their meals and find the restaurant to be a worthwhile spot for Chinese cuisine.

Was Anonym at Miss Congee a mag?
The wait staff are really friendly and the food is pretty good with the exception of the doughnut fritters - they are somewhat small in nature - not sure if the oil was not hot enough when they fried it. Great variety on the menu and is competitive with other Chinese restaurants. The restaurant is not as busy as their close competitors on any given night so the good news is that you don't have to wait as long for a t... View all feedback.

No bus boys so the wait staff waited tables, bussed tables, showed people to their tables, worked the cash. They needed at least 3 or 4 more working. The food was very very good, good sized portions, tasty, and hot.Prices were very fair.People were raising there hands to get there bills.I don't know if we will return. To bad since I think they have a good thing going if they want to keep their clients they need far better service.
This is the first time we came to the restaurant as my friend told us this is new and good food. What a mistake to go to this restaurant. The food is bad and the server does not know how to take the order and argue with us. What kind of service the restaurant gives to the customer? Never again will we go to the restaurant with lousy food and customer service.
This restaurant was formerly the IGA at the corner of Highway #7 and Kennedy Rd. The dining area is not too big and there is parking, though limited. The place was busy as it was a Saturday night. I don't think there were any empty tables and not a huge amount of people waiting. We were a party of 12 and were seated at probably the biggest table in the place. We were here to celebrate a birthday. As we arrived last, a set menu had already been ordered and once seated, a server came over & confirmed all had arrived. Within a few minutes our first course started to arrive, there were no waiting for the next course as they were very prompt in serving. Our menu consisted of the typical pork & preserved veggie soup, peking duck served 2 ways (both served with mandarin pancakes as the lettuce wrap was extra $). There were steamed fish, lobster, bbq pork, seafood with gai lan, chili beef & veggies. Extra dishes were also ordered; cantonese chow mein and chicken ho fun. All in all, the dishes were not huge and our bill came to just under $200 for 12.
I'm not sure why this restaurant only has one star, because it is amazing. If you're craving delicious Chinese food, this is the place to go. The sweet and sour pork was absolutely delicious, with a crispy coating. And they even have my favorite, turnip patties! I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

The decor is traditional and the service is friendly. Be sure to try their famous BBQ pork congee and crispy egg rolls. It's the perfect spot for a comforting meal on a chilly day.
