Dining in the food court is fine, but ordering takeout is a different story. If you can't package items properly, then just don't include the soup. Stacking small containers of soup and salad at the bottom may be quick and easy for you, but for customers, having the heavy main dishes on top causes everything to slide and spill, ruining utensils, napkins, and the dining experience overall. It's unfortunate I arrived close to closing time. I recommend that customers take a moment to open the bag and rearrange everything before their meal gets spoiled.
This location doesn't maintain the same quality control as the other restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area. With better choices available in the food court, you'll probably find that one visit is enough to conclude it's not worth a return trip.
I stopped by Gyugyuya for lunch while visiting Pacific Mall. Be aware that many tables in the food court are still taped off and unavailable due to social distancing, so it's wise to secure your seat before placing your order! I chose the Gyu Cheese Curry with Takoyaki on the side. The food was prepared quickly and was generally enjoyable. However, some items, like the hard-boiled egg, were served cold. The beef and cheese mixture was tasty, though a bit on the bland side. Interestingly, I found the Takoyaki to be the highlight of my meal, which might indicate that the Gyu Cheese Curry could use a little improvement. I would prefer to visit other Gyugyuya locations rather than this food court spot, but for a quick lunch, it wasn’t too bad overall.
I was really disappointed with my experience. I traveled all the way from Etobicoke to this location because my usual spot was closed. We ordered the omelette curry, which is our favorite, but first they mistakenly gave us a soup instead of the curry. The server was quick to resolve that, but when I finally opened my meal, I found I received half portions of everything I ordered, and there wasn't even enough curry to cover half of that. It was quite disappointing—I've had a much better experience at the location in Pacific Mall! The quality of the food was also noticeably different.
