Was Kristin at Dickens a mag?
The prices for the dishes are a bit on the higher side, which is expected given the steak and seafood offerings. Meals come with soup and a drink, but I did notice that the baked spaghetti bolognese was priced at $19, while it’s usually around $14 at other HK cafes. That said, if you get the VIP card for $20 (which gives you a 10% discount for life), it makes dining here feel more worthwhile. Also, it can be a bit ch... View all feedback.
What Victor Cheung dislikes about Dickens:
The drinks we ordered were watered down, which was quite disappointing. It's hard to believe that they could serve tea that tastes so bland—perhaps they're using the same pot to brew for 300 other customers. We spent $150 on dinner, and the food did not live up to expectations. Using cream sauce for mussels is quite uncommon, and upon closer examination, it appears they use the same average cream sauce for both the m... View all feedback.
I would give the chicken rice zero points. The chicken was served cold and had no flavor at all, especially when compared to similar dishes elsewhere. I even asked for ginger paste twice, but it made no difference. The rice lacked any taste, and the mushrooms tasted like mud. The total came to $16.99 with tax and tips, which I felt was unacceptable given the quality. The bread was served cold and soggy, making it impossible to eat. I forced myself to finish it because I hate wasting food, but I ended up feeling terrible and vomited twice over the next four days. This was my first experience dining here, and it left me questioning why I chose this place. The prices are outrageous—$31.99 for baked pork chop rice with a set during dinner? That's just unbelievable!
This restaurant consistently delivers a great experience, and lunch is always bustling! The menu prices have recently increased slightly, with most items going up by $1 to $2, which is reasonable. The service is always friendly and dependable! The kids' menu is also excellent! I'll definitely be returning!
The food was average and somewhat expensive, but the service was quite good. I would recommend trying the beef tongue and pork knuckle. The restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
