Danny's Fish Chips - Markham
Danny's Fish Chips
Description
Mary’s offers a diverse menu with notably well-prepared fish and chips, particularly praised for their fresh ingredients and generous portions. While some dishes, like the poutine, received mixed feedback for their consistency in quality, many guests appreciate the warm hospitality and prompt service. Upon entering, patrons are greeted with kindness, and the ambiance is welcoming, making it a suitable spot for family dining. However, there are concerns regarding the consistency of food quality in recent years, with some items falling short of expectations. Overall, Mary’s remains a beloved choice for seafood lovers.

We have been going to Mary’s (formerly Danny’s) for 40 years. Unfortunately, I must say that in the last few years, the quality has really declined. The fries were not fully cooked, and the fish and batter were less appealing.
We ordered a poutine, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. The gravy was too watery and lacked flavor. Additionally, the fries were cold, which meant the cheese didn't melt properly. We also tried the halibut platter—the fish portion was a decent size, but once again, the fries were cold.
The portion of halibut was small for the price. I would have been more forgiving of the cost if it had any flavor. I won’t be returning.
