The patio is surprisingly relaxing despite being in a parking lot and in front of Steeles. They put a lot of effort into planting greenery in front and putting up green netting on the sides to block out views of cars. We enjoyed dining on the patio. There was enough shade from the big umbrellas. The food is pretty consistent with the other 2 locations that we've been to. All the dishes we ordered arrived hot and tast... View all feedback.
What Gloria Nieto dislikes about Congee Queen:
Its not as good as before. We ordered the big seafood congee and it tasted very plain. The rice rolls were very thick. I remember going here few years ago and the quality was much better. View all feedback.

My family’s been going to the Congee Queen (near the Shops At Don Mills for >10 years. It’s our go to place for tasty, moderately priced entres. When one chooses to sit down, it’s an excellent (if sometimes cramped experience… dishes like the spicy turnip patty are crunchy and spicy on the outside fine textured on the inside. The location’s light wood paneling reminds me of som Richmond (B.C. eateries. Congee Queen also does take out. They’re wise about how it’s packaged the wontons are kept separated from the broth. The chow meins have their crispy noodles separated from the saucy coating. For prompt pick up, call ahead and place your order.
We ordered the Pork Hock Lo Mein and also the Garoupa with Bitter Melon Rice from their lunch combo. I liked that their lunch combo included a soup and a small plate of steamed vegetables too (also a spring roll). The size of garoupa fish fillets was substantial and very tasty.
I absolutely love Congee Queen! This is the go-to place for delicious Asian cuisine. My favorite dish is the chili turnip patties - they are incredibly tasty, along with the other items on the menu.
The service here was impressively fast, even when the restaurant was full. Our food started arriving in less than 10 minutes after we placed our order. The staff were very accommodating, even seating us at a booth upon request during their busy dinner rush. I can't speak to how the service is for non-Chinese parties, though. The atmosphere at this Cantonese restaurant was lively and bustling, but it was still easy to have a conversation at a normal volume. Overall, it's a great place to satisfy your craving for congee and other Cantonese dishes. Tip: You can ask for reduced salt and/or oil in most dishes when you place your order, if you prefer.
I visited Congee Queen for the first time last night, where I tried congee for the first time as well. We ordered the shrimp and scallops congee and ginger beef lo mein. The congee was a generous portion, although lacking in scallops. I found the congee a bit bland, but enjoyed it more after adding some chili. It is definitely a healthy choice with a variety of congee options at reasonable prices. The lo mein was not to my liking, as the beef was bland. I ended up using chili oil to enhance the flavors of all the dishes. The service was slow but the staff was friendly. Despite my experience, I would consider returning to try something else from their menu.

I was surprised to realize that I have never reviewed this restaurant, as I have been a customer for years. The service is always fast, and the self-ordering system (QR code provided upon being seated) is very efficient. You can still order in the traditional way with the staff if you prefer. The QR code option on your phone includes pictures of the food, although it may not be complete, it gives you a good idea of what most items look like (the physical menu has fewer photos). It's worth noting that the customer service here is not warm or westernized, as my girlfriend pointed out - she believes that if the staff is rude, the food is good. I find that sentiment funny and somewhat true. However, I personally didn't experience rude service at this restaurant. For around $100, you can enjoy a large bowl of congee, fried rice to share, 2 dishes, and all 5 people in your group can still be satisfied. They offer a 5% discount for cash payments, but do not accept American Express cards. Parking can be a bit challenging, but it's worth being patient.
Upon entering this Congee Queen location, we noticed that the interior was darker than other branches. Despite the bustling crowd, we were promptly seated. The servers were efficient in taking our order, and our food arrived quickly. We ordered scrambled egg noodles with shrimp, beef tendon egg noodle soup, house special congee, and spicy fried turnip cake. The scrambled egg noodles and beef tendon soup were delicious and satisfying. The house special congee, while filled with seafood, was bland and required additional seasoning. The turnip cakes were also not as flavorful as in other Congee Queen locations. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the rude attitude of one server (a Chinese middle-aged lady with a mushroom bowl cut) when we asked for the bill and takeout boxes. While other servers were courteous, her behavior affected our overall enjoyment. I would suggest visiting a different Congee Queen location for better service.
Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. Our server didn't seem very attentive or friendly, and even brought us the wrong dish. This mishap detracted from our overall enjoyment of the meal.
I went to this place twice and I was very surprised that the food is not oily. We used to go to congee queen on Kennedy and Sheppard but had to stop going as the food is very oily especially the stir fried noodles. The food is served fresh and hot and service is quick. This is my to go place when I crave for Chinese. Just make sure to make a reservation on the weekends to avoid a long wait. The servers are attentive not to mention they are always packed especially on the weekends. A lot of customers mentioned here that the servers are rude but that's just how they speak as they are not native English speakers. It doesn't mean that they are rude.

Our first in person visit since the pandemic. We both had lunch, which was up to usual standards. However, I had to wait a while for my food. Will visit again hopefully the service will be quicker.
This is our go to restaurant chain for takeout but this location was not as good as our usual. The order was ready on time. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and pork, rice rolls, Chinese greens, three different noodle dishes and fish/beef congee. It was hard to tell the difference between the sweet and sour chicken and pork. The fish in the congee also tasted swampy. Next time will order just the beef congee. Overall just average and will stick to our usual Congee Queen Location.
All the dishes we ordered arrived hot and tasty. Service was quick and efficient. Masks were required inside, if we needed to use the washroom. Overall, I would recommend this place for reasonably priced Chinese food with patio seating.
Food is good; sometimes great. The congee is great! It’s always busy there and the staff can be friendly.

Good selection of food and well priced pleased everyone. Perfect for sharing dishes big portions And good service
Congee Queen has been around for many years. Always good service. Efficient staff, well organized. The food orders are always correct. Excellent homemade traditional chinese food. Very good prices, large family style dishes. Eat in or take out.
Agincourt location. Many parking spaces. Reserved before time. Nice corner table ready for us when we arrived. Server was helpful for us to make our two dishes. Various mushrooms and bushchoy Singapore noodles with beef. Eating quickly arrived and piping hot. Very large... size parts. Safe collection containers. A lot of time to come to our theatre event at Flato in Markham.
Very good restaurant in the canton style. Good cooking and great selection of dishes. The price was very reasonable and the service was good. I like the roasted tofu very much. You should make reservations and book the BBQ meat and duck in advance to avoid selling out.
