Subway - MARKDALE
Subway
Description
The Subway location inside a Mac's store in a small town receives mixed reviews. Some customers express disappointment with inconsistent food quality and lackluster service, while others appreciate the cleanliness, friendliness of staff, and convenience of having a convenience store attached. Despite complaints about specific orders being mishandled or lack of freshness in ingredients, others find the food to be as expected for a Subway. Overall, it seems like a decent stop for travelers in the area, but improvements in consistency and customer service training for employees are suggested.

Subway offers delicious subs and good salads. The convenience store Circle K is a great option on holidays when other stores are closed. If you need a loaf of bread or milk, Circle K is a convenient choice.
I received the worst service at this location on May 19th at 4:30 pm I was treated so rudely I will never return
I generally enjoy Subway, but I'm not a fan of the smell at this location in a Mac's type store. The sandwiches are consistently delicious, but the staff always seem unhappy and unwelcoming. It feels like they don't want to be there, and I'm getting tired of spending money in a place where I don't feel welcome. The owners and managers should focus on training their employees, especially the younger ones, on how to greet and interact with customers to improve the overall experience. The store is very crowded, being jammed into a small space within the store.
I visited the Markdale Subway for lunch and was greeted by an employee who seemed annoyed that I was trying to purchase a sandwich. After asking for my bacon heated before toasting my sandwich as I like my bacon extra crispy, the employee argued with me because that would be too crispy... After explaining to her that I had previously worked at that same Subway she rudely told me that they now use a toaster oven to heat the bacon and still refused to toast it longer. I then gave up arguing with the employee and accepted that I would not get my sandwich the way I liked, I ended up eating rubbery bacon (which I was trying to avoid) and an uncut sandwich. Not satisfied and not returning.
I visited a bustling restaurant that was spotless and had a friendly staff. I ordered two meatball subs to go. The vegetables were incredibly fresh, and the sub maker prepared them exactly to my liking. They were efficient and amiable. Additionally, the cookies were delicious and recently baked.
