It's a bar top type of seating. The wait was only about 15 minutes. I had the scallop roll... amazing. The shrimp roll... pretty good. The crab roll... great. The salmon sashimi... pretty fresh! They make it fresh, one roll at a time is served. Great experience. Cute place. Great service. 16% is added to the total, so no gratuity. Definitely head here for a quick and easy lunch. What Tom Gaikowski doesn't like about Kazunori: The Original Hand Roll:
The Marina Del Rey location, which I assume all have the same menu, is probably the weirdest ‘sushi’ I have ever had. They scoop it out of a bin like ice cream and it looks like baby food. It tastes OK, but, man, you go to get Sushi for the art of a Japanese chef cutting up fresh fish and putting on kind of a show. This place has no soul, and they do not have hot saki, strike two. Very nice place, excellent food and attention, very nice
Hand roll chain with set menus. You can order a la carte as well. I typically get the four hand roll set and I love the blue crab hand roll it ends with. Free two hour parking is available. This spot is bigger than other kazu nori locations but it’s best to come in a smaller group. It’s good for solo dining as well. There is a line where you wait outside but on a Friday evening at 9pm, we only waited for about 20 minutes. Credit cards accepted. They make the rolls in front of you and the quality is up there. The combination of cool fish with warm rice wrapped in a crispy seaweed cannot be beaten. They do have takeout boxes as well.
Literally the most delicious hand rolls. Warm rice, cool fish, crispy sea weed. Simple and exquisite. Only complaint is the stools are not comfortable for those of us with large bodies and short legs. But I suffer through it for the deliciousness.
Never disappoints. I love both their takeout and dine in experience.
