I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I must say, the meat pies and sweets were absolutely delicious! It had been quite some time since my last visit, but the vast variety of options to choose from made it well worth the wait. The buttery, flakey pie crusts filled with warm and savory fillings were a delight with every bite. The food had an authentic and homemade taste that made supporting this... View all feedback.
What Patrick Reyes doesn't like about Australian Bakery Cafe:
Food is great. But what they serve is all over the place. They advertise that breakfast is all day. But apparently it’s more on if the chef FEELS like making breakfast. Well then…put that in the ad or website. “Be surprised! The chefs cooks what he wants!” I would go to place like that. Edit. Brought it down a star. Just found out the woman behind the counter rudely told my wife “we’re not doing breakfast anymore” do... View all feedback.
I initially came for the pavlova, but ended up staying for the Lamington. The Lamington was a pleasant surprise! I was surprised by how hard the pavlova was; I was expecting a light and airy dessert. While it was still tasty, I would suggest getting a coffee to balance out the sweetness. The service at this restaurant is fantastic; the staff has warm smiles and creates a casual atmosphere. One woman, in particular, stood out with her kind and nurturing personality. I don't recall her name, but she made me feel like a cherished niece or nephew.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic! I especially enjoyed the steak and onion pie, and the chips were also very tasty!
My favorite place to have breakfast and lunch around Marietta Square. They have never disappointed me with their excellent service and delicious food.
I regret not taking more photos at this restaurant. The staff is extremely kind, welcoming, and fun. I received a recommendation for the meat pie, and it did not disappoint. I also tried an Aussie meat pie, vanilla slices, and Vegemite spread, all of which were impressive. But the highlight was meeting the owner, who exuded Southern hospitality. Thank you, Mr. Steele.
I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The meat pie reminded me of my time in Australia and was delicious. Seeing familiar branded food items from Australia brought a smile to my face. I will definitely be stopping here again next time I'm in Marietta!
