I visited Jaques Coffee Plantation in conjunction with a tour of the wonderful Atherton Tableland. The plantation is a showcase of the coffee that city dwellers drink on a daily basis. The story of the plantation and the beautiful gardens are a sight to behold.Enjoy a walk around the garden prior to your first cappuccino, cafe latte or macchiato. The coffee is fantastic! I am part of a college study abroad group from the US. We had a tour learning about the amazing story of the restaurant and had lunch at the cafe. The food is fantastic! The presentation of the dishes is colorful and cheerful, and the taste is also excellent. It's a shame that I can't visit this place more often.
Staff were absolutely fantastic. Friendly and so helpful. Staff went the extra mile and took the young ones looking for fresh passionfruit and mangos. Then brought some of it to us and cut them open for us to enjoy. Coffee and food is sensational. Will definitely be back when visiting Cairns.
I recently visited this cafe as a part of a day tour and was pleasantly surprised to find out it is located on its own coffee plantation. I wasn't sure what to expect from the tasting, but was presented with a delightful platter of 7 items, including some chocolate-covered espresso beans. I thoroughly enjoyed every sip of the coffee, which I found to be one of the best I have ever tried. One unique drink we sampled was the cold brewed coffee cherries, which was both delicious and refreshing. The scones served alongside were also a hit. The cafe also produces a coffee liqueur, sourced from their own coffee beans. The passion and knowledge of the staff was evident in the presentation of the tasting platter, making it a must-visit spot. Be sure to say hi to Rowan when you visit.
We made a spontaneous decision to stop for lunch on our way to Atherton. Our food arrived promptly and my husband really enjoyed his beef burger, noting that it wasn't greasy and had beetroot in it. I personally liked the wagyu burger. The iced coffee was perfect and the lemonade scones were delightful. We also took a quick look around the small shop. The staff was efficient and friendly.
A bit of the way, but wow, loved it. Friendly staff, picturesque venue and fantastic food. Definitely one for your to do list.
