Doc's Fish Camp Grill - MARBLE FALLS
Doc's Fish Camp Grill
Description
Doc's Restaurant in Horseshoe Bay offers a varied dining experience that leaves patrons divided. While some rave about the friendly service and standout dishes, such as perfectly fried fish and enticing seafood options, others express disappointment in food quality, citing issues with freshness and flavor. Cleanliness appears to be a concern for some, with sticky floors and unkempt tables. Despite mixed reviews on the food, many appreciate the lively atmosphere, with mentions of live music and a warm environment. For those willing to take a chance, Doc's may just surprise you, but managing expectations is key.

Nothing fresh, all frozen. The fried shrimp and fries were edible but just barley. The rest of the meal was disgusting. Super over priced, would highly NOT recommend.
Simply excellent all around. We split the 3 fried catfish dinner with two sides, which left room for key lime pie for dessert plus ice cream without feeling stuffed. The brownie a la mode also looked very tempting. Dined on Wednesday so no info about live music nights.
Visiting in Horseshoe Bay we took the TA review and stopped by for dinner on a Monday night about 6p. Very few diners there, easy to get a table, we were promptly and courteously met by a very well-meaning newly minted waiter. The food, however, just wasn't very good. We had the cheese turds (ok, barely), shrimp appetizer (poor), shrimp pasta dish (pasta was undercooked and underprepared), sides of green beans and cole slaw (both of which tasted like they came from the Burger King next door). The pinot gris was vin very ordinaire and the prosecco okay. Service was sincere. The next day we met friends who live nearby who informed us that they would have warned us off had we consulted, that Doc's has been headed downhill for several years. Keep your expectations low if you decide to dine at Doc's.
