Left after we got our drinks. took forever to get the attention of the staff, while it was almost empty and lots of staff . Sad to see this. But I dont think they will see me anymore this year. Try again next year, or when I hear it has turned around. But that will be very difficult I think

However, as with rece... read more We have been going to Guayaba for many years, as it is in a wonderful location and the staff have always been very friendly and efficient. However, as with recent reviews, we found the service this year to be well below previous years’ standards, at times, rude and insolent. We went recently when there were actually more staff than customers but still struggled to be seen for service. One of the girls spent our whole time there chatting at the bar with one customer, helping herself to crisps from behind the bar. She managed to tear herself away to take an order from arrivals but immediately resumed her position and someone else delivered the drinks, Similarly, I could see our drinks had been poured but it was left to the bar person to bring them to us. I would exclude this person from the criticism.There seem to be too many places for the staff to hide from customers because there are plenty of staff but they congregate around the corner where they cannot be attentive. One or two maintain previous standards (I’m afraid I don’t know their names) but generally, very poor service. It’s a real shame but as it closes this weekend until next summer, I hope there will be an opportunity to recruit staff who actually want to serve customers and return Guayaba to its previous position.
