We had heard such good things about the Guayaba Beach that we were seriously underwhelmed when we had lunch there. It was just average at beast nothing special. It was such a disappointment. The restaurant is located right on the beach which is quite stony in parts. The tables are all outside and covered with various types of parasols. We were shown to a table where you access the menu via a QR code stuck on the table. If you can't access the QR the staff will read you the menu. After ordering a drink which arrived with the bread (no butter or olive oil) we ordered our lunch. My wife started with the melon with ham a large portion of superb melon with ham whilst I ordered the gambas pil pil again a large portion of gambas which more than filled the large ramekin though it did lack some heat from the chilies. At least the starters were good. For our main courses we ordered the sea bass skewers which we assumed where skewers with chunks of sea bass on them we were totally wrong. It meant that the sea bass had been skewered over the bbq so so were served the whole fish which was a pleasant surprise. The only trouble was that the skin was quite burnt and the fish was overcooked dried out which was a real shame. We ordered dessert which mainly consisted of bought in ice creams from Nestle or from Frigo. There were also a couple of fresh fruit desserts. The service was OK nothing special but nothing to complain about and the staff were fairly indifferent. Overall an average sort of meal but as there are much better chinguiritos in that area along the coast I don't think we will be going back

I gave this bar “one star” last year as the service was terrible. Our experience this year was totally different so surprised to see the bad reviews. Admittedly we didn’t eat but on the four or five occasions we went, our drinks orders were taken and delivered quickly. The two guys who served us pretty much on every occasion, Esteban and Kevin ? , were very efficient, attentive and polite. Speak as you find so, for us, still a “go to” place. There still appears to be quite a bit of “backsliding” by some of the staff and we could do without some of the ageing lotharios haunting the bar area but overall a good atmosphere.

We decided to visit for dinner and it was shocking! Eight people in total and the food came out at all different times making for an awkward dining experience When the food did come out three of the burgers were massively under cooked, to the point it could not be eaten. it was a large burger but if it cannot be cooked properly it shouldn’t be on the menu We saw previous bad reviews but against our better judgement we still went. Avoid at all cost

Avoid this place. It is run by thugs. The food was above average good in some instances but the service was absolutely appalling . When we complained at the end of the evening the waiter asked me outside for a fight!! I Do not go anywhere near this place.

Abysmal service, incomplete food orders. Food came in cold and no possibility to order further drinks as the service was non existent. It was only after dropping a semi nuclear bomb that we managed to get someone’s attention so we could pay and get out. The steak that we ordered was fantastic but that was by pure chance because they never bothered to ask how we would prefer it to be cooked. The tuna fish from Barbate was served cold and was totally tasteless. Spare yourself the experience. A drink in their bar would probably have been better. It is a shame to generalize, however a majority of Spanish run restaurants lack any kind of costumer service.
