What Yo L dislikes about David:
Let's start with the positive. The location is great. The staff are friendly. My little dog was welcome. Service was slow. But it was not the staff's fault because he was truly rushed off his feet. Food, however, was lousy. We had the usual tapas, tortilla, croquetes, pimientos and prawns pil pil. We left the prawns untouched except for the one bite I had. The other dishes were barely edible and we ate them because w... View all feedback.

First went to Davids two years ago and returned twice this year, the food is good and the kids love their chicken and chips all home made. The terrace is high with a lovely view.
Whether it's tapas or a main meal this restaurant continues to get better and better. The proprietor David is always welcoming along with the rest of the staff. We had the avocado and prawn salad to start which was lovely and fresh. Followed by Bacalao a cod style fish which again was beautifully cooked and delicious. All accompanied by a fine bottle of wine from the large wine list. The best surprise was the low price. Never been let down here and I certainly will return again soon.
I went to David's Bar tonight with my son as we had been twice before and had great value menu del dia deals. On arrival we were greeted and asked if we wanted drinks all very professionally. Hot bread arrived out next and all was good. My son decided on the prawn pil pil then the lasagne , I chose the toast with mushroom and cheese then the David burger. The toast arrived 20 mins after ordering and did taste very good as I was starving but it was cold just as I was finishing my starter my sons pil pil arrived sizzling hot , garlic burnt and black it seemed it has been left in an oven or under a grill for quite a while , it also tasted bland very unlike a pil pil as in it was more garlic and tomato sauce , bland in taste , but was eaten as he was starving also. After another 20 minutes the mains arrived my burger was well presented and tasted really good , my sons lasagne was frozen in the middle as in ice !!!! Yet amazingly the lasagne at the side was piping hot. When the waiter was informed he took it back immediately as if he knew something had gone wrong , my son was asked if he wanted another dish he declined we shared the very good burger paid the bill and left no tip I don't like doing that As I have said I have been to David's before and enjoyed the meal , something went wrong in the kitchen . Not sure I'll come back
I would highly recommend the food here. We had 6 tapas between 2 and couldn't pick my favourite because they were all good!
This is a nice place for lunch or tapas. It is in at least its third iteration. A few years ago it was around the corner called Mamma Lina's and was a gathering spot for workers and locals at lunch time attesting to the good food at good value. It is more upscale now but still a very good meal and still attractive to the workers. They have a menu del Dia with good choices. We had Oxtail which was very tasty in a nice sauce. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. We have been there a couple of times for Tapas as well and they do a good job with them, too.
