During our stop in Tucson, we chose to stay at The Dove Mountain Ritz-Carlton, and I couldn't be happier with our decision. The experience was fantastic! We dined at Ignite, where the food was exceptional. Every time we arrived, Sharon welcomed us at the door with a warm smile, and our server Suede provided attentive and professional service. Gisela Salazar is in the wrong position as a restaurant manager and needs to be removed from the Ritz Carlton name and she does not represent the brand at all. The food and atmosphere were outstanding! I visited on a Thursday night and sampled the sushi menu. I was pleasantly surprised to discover such delicious sushi in Arizona. We tried the hamachi, rainbow roll, and dove mountain roll. The only downside was that it felt a bit overpriced, and the service was a bit slow since they only accommodate walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis.
The tacos were incredible, and the cauliflower (which I would never typically rave about) was fantastic too. The drinks were great, and the service was outstanding!
I had a fantastic dinner with stunning views. We tried a prickly pear margarita and a classic margarita, both of which were excellent. The avocado tostadas were delicious, as was the tempura roll—all the fish in the sushi was fresh. Our server, Claudia, was very pleasant and provided outstanding service. I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area or staying at the Ritz.
We live locally and come here on occasion. We have done staycations and had amazing service. Our experience at Ignite was terrible. Mind you it's the summer and it was slow. I'm sure they aren't fully staffed but for $30 a cocktail and a $30 appetizer I expect better service. We were completely ignored by the bartender and multiple servers walked by us as we sat there. We were also one of the only people in there at the time. We finally got drinks and food and it was going better. It got a bit busier and our server completely forgot about us the rest of our time there. He didn't check on our food, didn't offer us another round (which we would have gotten). We sat there with empty water glasses, empty plates and he continually walked past us. I didn't see a manager on the floor either. Our saving grace was Claudia at the end who cleared our plates, got us a to go box and paid our tab. My husband spent 10 years working for the ritz Carlton and he was appalled. Will never be back. The view is great, food is great but service was so disappointing for a 5 diamond 5 star resort.
Great ambiance, fun to go for flutist and then live music on Friday. Had sushi and a nice cocktail delicious but pricey.
