Above and beyond... read more Myself and my two friends visited Mar del plata a couple weeks ago. We were first attracted to the Piazza Caffe because of its beautiful view. Above and beyond simply the view however were the staff. Although it was off season for most tourists, everyone working was incredible. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu, and when asked, other staff went above and beyond to recommend some local bars and venues with live music that we might enjoy later in the evening. As we were unfamiliar with the city, the owner wrote his number on a business card and told us that if we got lost we shouldn't hesitate to call them for help. I feel like I left with more friends then I went in with. Highly recommended.

Ate a very ni... read more Went two times to Piazza cafe, invited by locals. The location of the restaurant is very nice (seavieuw) but decoration of the place is not great. Ate a very nice Bife de Chorizo at lunch, but the fries were dissappointing, clearly frozen, not at all matching the meat quality. A pitty. Also had the griled seafood platter with grilled veggies. Not bad but not inspiring. They recommended a Malbec which was really excellent. Service is average. Fair value for money. Could be a lot better by adjusting some details, like decoration, presntation of dishes and cordiality of the waiters.

The te... read more My wife and I had a delicious breakfast at Piazza Caffe on 28 December. They gave us a full plate of medialunas and toasts. The coffee is also very good. The terrace offers breathtaking views of the coastline. I highly recommend this cafe to chill out on a hot summer day.

Right in front of the sea, which makes this place especially nice to... read more This is one of my favourite restaurants in Mar del Plata. First of all the view is amazing. Right in front of the sea, which makes this place especially nice to have lunch while you enjoy the view! Plus the food is great. My personal three favourites dishes are: rabas, caesar's salad and caya chilena. The size of most dishes is quite large, so I recommend sharing the food or ordering half a dish. As you'll see the staff is nice and helpful, and they will always tell you if it's better to share. Anyway, if there's a lot of leftovers, they rap it up and you can take it home... or to the hostel.
