We have returned to Can Vermut time after time on our holidays in Menorca over the past 7 years and we have to say it’s still the best food we’ve had in Mahon!... read more We have returned to Can Vermut time after time on our holidays in Menorca over the past 7 years and we have to say it’s still the best food we’ve had in Mahon! The ingredients are fresh, good quality and prepared with care and some of the dishes are not only interesting but mind blowingly delicious and tastebud exploding. (And I say this as a cook who caters for other people. It’s not cheap but you can be careful about what you order and get great value. It’s a sharing kind of menu so you can order several dishes for 2 people and dip in and out of those amazing flavours. Try the fennel carpaccio and the ceviche for starters! There are good organic wines to choose from and the traditional homemade desserts are delicious. We always want to try other places to eat but after many disappointments elsewhere in the harbour we end up returning here every night it’s open! The atmosphere is cheerful, the chef and staff are enthusiastic and friendly and Nathalie speaks 6 languages fluently so you never need to worry about understanding what’s on the menu.

From what I've heard this small restaurant doesn't usually like to seat more than four people as there is one chef producing all the food however they made an e... read more From what I've heard this small restaurant doesn't usually like to seat more than four people as there is one chef producing all the food however they made an exception for our party of eight as we arrived late and the restaurant was relatively quiet. The menu is relatively small too however we must have tried 80% of its contents and all absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend highly enough. When in Menorca this is a must try!
