The place was set out like a forest with lots of witch ornaments and dolls. Great experience topped off with a free vodka at the end.

I noticed that the owner called his polish friends in , what I saw is that they ordered on our expenses. Everything they drunk went on our tap. The also wrote with a "fork" 1 beer ordered 4 written down.

We were looking for dinner and we were walking... read more We didn't really have much to go on so when I say we stumbled upon this restaurant, that is exactly what I mean. We were looking for dinner and we were walking down a street slightly off of Paradeplatz when we came across this sinister looking place. It was quite dark but appealed to our adventurous side and we decided to give it a try. We are really happy we did. I believe the name translates to The Witch and that is definitely the theme. The place is designed to resemble an enchanted forest and has "witch-themed" knick-knacks all over. Although we struggled a little with the language barrier (we are used to that so it isn't much of a bother), the servers were very friendly. I am pretty sure the owners have a Polish background. There were plenty of German food options and a few Polish options. The salad was excellent, the pierogies were good, the beer was great. At the end of the meal, the server shared with us a small drink of Polish vodka to finish off the great hospitality. I would certainly go back when in Mannheim not only for the great service and the good food, but the overall theme of the restaurant was unique.
