Pocket Pizza Manly
Pocket Pizza Manly
Description
Nestled in the heart of Manly, this pizzeria is garnering acclaim for its remarkable pies that even delight non-vegetarians. Offering an impressive pesto pizza that redefines vegan options, diners rejoice over a significant upgrade from typical vegetable-only selections. The restaurant features high-quality vegan mozzarella and a small but tasty selection of plant-based pizzas—mushroom and margherita. While the other vegetable pizzas use a cream base and modifications are not permitted, the overall experience shines. Though slightly on the pricier side, this gem is highly recommended for both vegan and meat-loving patrons alike.

I tried the pesto pizza at this restaurant and it was incredibly delicious. It was a huge improvement from the basic vegan pizza with just vegetables and no cheese. My meat-eating friends also enjoyed it. The restaurant offers a variety of non-vegetarian options as well as 3 or 4 vegan choices. I would definitely recommend this place, although it is a bit pricey.
This restaurant in Manly offers some of the best pizzas in town and provides a wonderful dining experience. While they do offer high-quality vegan mozzarella, the options for vegans are limited to just two pizzas: mushroom (which is delicious!) and margherita. Their other vegetable pizzas have a cream base and they do not allow any changes or substitutions.
I would advise against ordering the gluten free pizza at Pocket Pizza. Unfortunately, the quality of their gluten free pizza has declined since they became more popular. We have ordered both gluten free and non-gluten free pizzas from them regularly, and while the non-gluten free base is always delicious and well-cooked, the gluten free base leaves much to be desired. The last three times we ordered a gluten free pizza, it arrived burnt and had a bitter flavor, likely due to the burnt potato starch in the crust. On one occasion, the pizza also arrived cold, despite my request for it not to be burned. The waiter explained that they serve a high volume of customers daily and may not always be able to keep up with every order. While they did offer to refund the pizza, they did not address the issue of the overcooked crust. In conclusion, I would recommend avoiding the gluten free pizza base at Pocket Pizza and exploring other restaurants in Manly that offer better gluten free options.
