A breakfast staple in Manhattan with excellent classics and creative daily specials. Be warned, you will almost certainly have a wait on weekends and holidays, but I assure you it's worth it. View all feedback.
What Bill M doesn't like about The Chef:
Had to figure this place would be awesome based on the reviews, but unfortunately that was not the case for me. When I sat down and the waitress ask what I would like to drink I ask if the tea they had was sweet. She responded with “uh no, this is not Alabama. You’re in Kansas“. Cozy diner with EXCELLENT food. It's always a treat when a kitchen is better than my own! I enjoyed the pesto frittata and home style potatoes. In our group, the chicken fried steak was a huge hit. The corn beef hash is extra special with LARGE chunks of beef and potatoes perfectly seasoned. Definitely eating here again.
If you don't see a line out the door you better park fast, and get inside. Good place to cure or start a hangover. Awesome breakfast fare. Perfect portion sizes. Excellent customer service. You can really tell people enjoy working here. My favorites are the burrito or the corned beef hash. Don't forget the jam. If there is a line out the door order a drink and ask for a bucket of chalk to decorate the sidewalk.
Our breakfast was very good and hot. Our waitress was very cheerful
Great place for breakfast. I always get their French toast!
