This place is nice, but has some insignificant drawbacks. First, it is very loud inside, when many groups are dining because the room is tiny, and the tables are packed closer together. Second, our waitress wasn’t very friendly and attentive, but she was busy, since the place was full. The atmosphere overall is welcoming. The food was pretty good. This restaurant has a lot of positives, but there are a few minor drawbacks. Firstly, the noise level can be quite high when multiple groups are dining, as the space is small and the tables are closely packed together. Secondly, our waitress wasn't particularly friendly or attentive, likely because she was overwhelmed with customers. Despite this, the overall atmosphere is inviting. The food was quite good overall. However, I did have an issue with my cup of tea being only half-full. Additionally, we found the crispy rice sushi to be a bit too spicy for our taste. On a positive note, the tamago sushi was delicious, as were the blue crab rolls, although they did remind us a bit too much of California rolls. The udon soup was fantastic and well-balanced. One thing we appreciated was how quickly the food was served, even with the restaurant being busy.
Hiro's restaurant is outstanding. The sushi was delicious, the fish was fresh, and the presentation was of the highest quality. Hiro himself brought a wonderful energy and clearly knows exactly how to do things the right way!
This restaurant is a real gem. The owner and his staff are amazing, and the quality and consistency of the sushi are outstanding. Although this place has been around for quite some time, the current owner took over a few years ago and has transformed it into what it is today—nothing short of one of the best sushi spots in Manhattan Beach.
Great Sushi and Sashimi. Hero is a good Sushi Chef, and is a work in progress. I was surprised at the price as I've been eating there for years, long before he owned it, and it is substantially more expensive. I guess it's a sign of the times.
Chicken teriyaki, shrimp tempura, and sashimi combo, aka 'kaku ', comes with miso soup, salad, and rice, all for under $18. Very good meal, with lots of variety, and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
