Seashell - MANFREDONIA

We ordered a first course of pasta and king crab. After waiting for over half an hour from the time of ordering we asked why the dish was taking so long to arrive but were offered no explanation or apology. Had we been offered either we would have accepted the delay. After half an hour we decided to leave. We told the proprietor the reason and she said that the dishes were prepared al momento but this is something I take for granted and not a reason for such a long wait. She then said that if we were in a hurry we should have told them. We were not in a hurry. We left because they were slow and gave no explanation. I went to this restaurant with the aim of recommending good restaurants to British tourists heading to Puglia: Unfortunately I will not be able to include Seashell in my recommendations.

We are 16 people and we paid 700 euro bill. We shared appetizers, main dish (2 pizzas, one risotto, and 4/5 pasta). Each person paid 45 euro and we were not offered anything, not even a liquor. Good quality, overpriced, little attention to The customer.

Consistently fabulous for food and atmosphere. My favorite food , octopus is served Puglia stlye over puree of fava which is beautifully plated. The calamarata with shellfish and porcini is exsquisite (porcini are fresh in season and it's only place in Manfredonia I've found porcini can't even find them in the markets. The fish soup was also fabulous and all their dishes are plated artfully and abundantly. We have dines their at least 6 times and it's never a disappointment. Cristiano and Marina are delightful owners

Amazing restaurant for long leisurely lunch every dish was fresh moreish just wish we had 7 bellies lol but glad that they done take home we had 3 great servers there was Michele(translator) 2x Joseph(who done the hard work) lol grazie mille to Jean-Pierre who worked hard behind the bar Only criticism is they never even offered my husband a free limoncello or grappa for his birthday but good value we shall return GRAZIE MILLE

The restaurant itself is a nice structure and offers a nice view over the tourist port of Manfredonia. Particular attention has been given to the indoor space with sea theme decorations (of course! . Despite the restaurant being very busy, we have been served within a reasonable waiting time and we could enjoy a nice but not exceptional seafood antipasto followed by fried fish and mix salad. I was a bit disappointed when I asked for a glass of white wine and I was answered to pay for a bottle and drink only one glass!!! I could say the price is bit high for the quality of the food, but fair for the location. Overall experience good.
