While some guests were disappointed with the quality of the coffee and desserts, as well as a rude incident involving the duty manager cutting off patrons from ordering more drinks, others were impressed by the friendly staff and delicious food. Diners praised the perfectly cooked fish, squid entrée, and well-presented dishes like steak and crispy chicken. The restaurant is also noted for its beautiful setting and affordability. Overall, the Peninsula is recommended for a lovely night out with friends or family, despite some mixed experiences with service and food timing.
We live close by and finally managed to have lunch there. There were of us and we all ordered at the same time. Disappointing that the time between the first meal delivered and the last meal delivered was minutes. And a mix up...with orders also. It wasn’t a busy day at the Pen. The food was average and the service was also average. Won’t be in a hurry to go back.
My girlfriend and I had a overnight stay at the Sebel which is lovely great location , we decided to have a late lunch at The Pen downstairs we were not disappointed . My friend is a foodie and great cook so was going to...be a big ask to please her . We ordered the squid , arancini and pumpkin flat bread . Everybite was delish , flavours were sensational . Overall outstanding food and quality of service was fantastic . Friendly staff with prompt service . We enjoyed our experience so much we didn’t bother eating anywhere else for dinner , came back here . Again we were not disappointed my friend ordered the salmon (which was cooked perfectly) and I had the pasta with cauliflower that was jam packed full of flavour Pasta was cooked perfectly . Compliments go to the chef, kitchen and wait staff . We gave it a for food and service and we are very tough critics I work in hospitality fine dining in Perth I was very impressed with the relaxed vibe that presented great food . Thanks P.S did I mention the amazing views
I went to the bar area as i wanted coffee and cake rather than a restuarant meal. It was hot and stuffy with no air con ? and the coffee was the worst i have tasted in years, watery and like cheap instant. The citrus...? brulee was overly sweet and dodnt have the tang i was looking for. Didnt go back and wouldnt visit again. However staff were friendly and service good.
Really enjoyed our meal here. The chilli mussels were great and my wife and kids enjoyed their food too.
So we are a Senior and almost a Senior. We ordered Fish and Chips and asked if we could have a second plate to share. No worries. For the first time in a very long time no waste. The food was cooked beautifully, we both...really enjoyed it. Oh and of course we had the added bonus of eating in a beautiful place.
