We were so impressed with the service that we have decided to... read more We called this restaurant for takeout two weeks ago when our usual fish and chip shop was closed. We were so impressed with the service that we have decided to become regular customers. The staff was friendly and accommodating over the phone, ensuring us that they fry their chips separately in vegetable oil, which was a relief as one of us is vegan. We called around 7:30, right before closing time at 8:00, but they were kind enough to wait for us to arrive. The chips were delicious, even at the end of the night. The fish batter was crispy and flavorful, and the haddock was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the mushy peas. The prices were affordable and the portions were generous. We have had a great experience every time we have ordered from here and will continue to do so. We highly recommend this place. Thank you!

When I requested napkins for my autistic client, he claimed there were none available, but then asked the lady working to provide me with some from a full bag. I felt this behavior was petty. When I tried to address the issue, he began shouting at me and even approached the table while my client was eating to rudely tell me to leave. I chose not to argue with him and instead tried to explain that I was working with an autistic client and that his behavior was inappropriate, but he responded by telling me to leave and that I was no longer welcome. I have no intention of returning. The lady working there was friendly, but I can only imagine what it must be like to work with him. It is disappointing how he treated customers, especially without any reason. I suggest visiting the many other, more welcoming establishments in the area.

I ordered two lightly battered fish with separate portions of chips, a steak pudding, and mushy peas. The fish was delicious - I'm not normally a fan of batter, but this was really light and tasty. The chips were very good, and the mushy peas were tasty as well. Will I come back to this restaurant? Absolutely.

The... read more Very average food the salad that comes with the fish and chips is nothing more than a few bits of lettuce and tomato not worth the extra cost by any means. The fish is pretty much like anyone else 's, not great, not bad, the chips were on the soggy side. Half of the staff was nice (the distaff portion).
