Contribute FeedbackDespite mixed reviews, Sam's Chop House in Manchester offers a traditional pub atmosphere with great draught beers and ciders. The food, however, receives inconsistent feedback ranging from greasy and poor quality to excellent and delicious. Service also varies greatly, from dismissive and poor to friendly and attentive. The restaurant holds historical significance and remains popular for its ambiance and wide selection of beers. The Sunday lunch and fish and chips are highlighted as excellent options. Overall, Sam's Chop House presents a mixed experience with some standout features but room for improvement in service and food quality.
My friend and I visit Manchester three to four times a year, and we always make sure to dine at SAMs restaurant at least twice. The menu is superb, and the wine selection is even better. George, the head waiter, is incredibly helpful and charming, as are all the staff. Dining at this restaurant is always a pleasure.
I was disappointed with my recent meal at Sam's Chop House. The famous Corn Beef Hash I ordered did not meet my expectations. It tasted burnt and the portion size was smaller than before. The quality of the food seems to be declining and I am unsure if I will return for another meal.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I took advantage of their August offer. It was quite busy, which did slow down the service a bit, but we were understanding of the situation. Overall, it was a positive experience and I would recommend it to others.
As ever fabulous food. Please bring back the onion soup!
Really nice menu but we were sat a little bit too close to the bar area with football on TVs, if there could have been music in the restaurant area it may have drowned it out. All in all though the food was good and the service was very friendly and very good.
