The place less than quarter... read more Another mistake at the Roebuck (Urmston thought we would give it another visit on my Birthday just before Christmas 2023 for lunch. The place less than quarter full, so a quick service expected, wrong waited 60 mins from arriving to being served (excuse that they were very busy, short staffed ??? . Food: fish and chips ok, with Manchester caviar?? (turns out to be 'mushy peas ' £13.95 My 'featherblade ' braised steak consisted of a large amount of mashed potato, a few peas and a small piece of the said 'meat '/gravy for £17.95, very disappointed and very expensive 'mashed potato '. We called the manager to explain our concerns over the tiny portion of 'braised steak ' and his reply was to give a 15% discount and again said that staff shortages and being busy, blah, blah, blah were the 'problem ' ??? (busy? I have given a few reviews on the Roebuck over the years and it has not progressd/improved in our opinion and thankfully, Urmston now has lots of better options for food and drink with much better value. Sorry Joseph Holts, not a great experience again.

Service was friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely and the deals made it very good very for money.
