Eating in the restaurant of an airport hotel is not an over appealing thought and sure enough this place lived up to the low expectations. The meal was unfortunate to be memorable for the discovery of a living creature in the salad and the derisory 25 pc discount offered on just this one dish that should have at least been offered for free. However the prawn cocktail wasn't too bad so not such a bad start to the meal... View all feedback.
The breakfast buffet at this restaurant is fantastic. Whether you opt for a Full English or continental option, you will find a variety of protein, fruit, and delicious carbs to kick-start your day.
During our overnight stay at the Manchester Hilton, we had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant for both lunch and dinner, and we had a wonderful experience. Melanie, our server, was very competent and friendly. The food was delicious - for lunch, we tried the fish and chips as well as the ploughman's sandwich. The fish and chips were excellent, while the sandwich was a bit dry (but still made with high-quality ham). For dinner, we both enjoyed the blue cheese and pear risotto followed by sticky toffee pudding. While not inexpensive, the restaurant is located in an airport hotel so prices were to be expected. Overall, we were very pleased with our dining experience and it exceeded our expectations.
Food so overpriced. Struggled to pay when it came to it. Seemed to be a lack of staff and inexperienced ones in the main. Obvs a captive audience if you're eating here. but just felt it was a let down for start of holiday.
My wife and I took our daughter and her new husband to Masons in Manchester on a Saturday night for dinner. They had found it online and as it was 300 yards from their apartment and the menu and photos looked good we were excited to try a new venue. Initially the service was friendly and efficient . Wine was good and reasonably priced and we ordered three courses. Banter was good with the waiter who gave us opinions and advice throughout. The food was pretty good especially the main courses and when we requested the bill we were happy with our night. The bill arrived at £300 including a £30 service charge not unusual but I added £10 in cash as I thought the waiter was good. When I put the £10 note on the table he exclaimed “Is that it?” I was shocked but managed to respond “yes plus the £30 service charge” He muttered “I will share this with all the guys who made your good night” and walked off never to be seen again. Frankly we were dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say or do as we left we agreed it had ruined the experience and that we wouldn’t return. I am used to the tipping environment in the US and other countries but this was the first UK based tip abuse I have had odd as in current climate I would have expected restaurants to want repeat business.
This was my first visit to Masons and the atmosphere and decor is amazing. Really helpful and attentive host, we we made to feel very welcomed. The food wine was delicious. Will definitely return.
