Food and place is lovely Sadly, the restaurant was using the lounge to cram in additional covers. We ate in the lounge. This is a lovely space but is not designed for eating. Tables and chairs were too low and very uncomfortable. It was like eating a meal sat crossed legged on the floor in a Japanese tea house !! View all feedback.
What OpenTable Diner doesn't like about King Street Tavern:
Really disappointed! A big fan of the 'eclectic ' group and was excited to book this for a friends reunion! Staff from beginning to end were just rude. No-one seemed happy to be there and everything seemed like a chore. Really off putting. Ambience was dreadful and just felt the evening was brought down. Food was good and all served timely. Won 't be returning sadly. View all feedback.
Beautiful eating, relaxed atmosphere and great service! will come back
They had not checked online bookings for the day, so no table had set for us. (we had booked 4 hours ago). they sat at the bar and we waited 10 minutes to be served - it seems very understated and the poor barmann was busy to make about a dozen cocktails for a big group. we had a drink and twenty minutes later we waited for our table. we have seen how they built a table and went on to give it to someone who went through the door - probably with a non-online booking. the place was half empty, but after half an hour we are not sitting in the bar. the workers seem quite stressed and badly organized. we didn't eat, but we didn't want to spend money on a place that can't manage their bookings, their personal or their cash. look forward to hotel guests and hot parties.
Fabulous evening celebrated my husband birtbday, our server laura was great, she went out of her way to make his evening special. eating was good, brilliant and good value for money. the restaurant has a nice relaxed feeling.
Best lamb shank l have ever tatsted! The restaurant was a bit noisy due to the ladies having afternoon tea with bottomless champagne
Padron peppers for the starter were slightly undercooked. The jerk chicken burger was delicious. Waiter was attentive. Was fairly quiet inside for a Saturday evening which was surprising, but the booths made it feel private and cosy.
