King Street Tavern - Manchester

I waited because they couldn't find our reservation, even though I showed them on my phone... we were directed to the bar to buy drinks... Unfortunately, a barman was very tireless and needed help to serve us much to the trouble of the other barman.... We were finally shown our table in the back room, which was very nice and quiet. We ordered our food and it was delicious... I found that we were consistently asked if everything was okay, but we seem to have a little more waiting time between courses than we would normally expect. We asked for contingencies and after 5 minutes we had to ask someone else.... I've ordered a drink that never arrived, but gave up to reorder him. When the bill came lo and behold, the drink was on him as well as another drink we never ordered... so I had to take it off. The restaurant is beautiful and has a beautiful atmosphere, but I feel that some of the staff are very unorganized. They go out their way to make your experience a pleasant but not consistent.

They had not checked online bookings for the day, so no table set for us. (We had booked 4 hours ago). They sat at the bar and we waited 10 minutes to be served - it seems very understated and the poor barman was busy making about a dozen cocktails for a big group. We had a drink and twenty minutes later we waited for our table. We saw how they set up a table and continued to give it to someone who went through the door - probably with a non-online booking. The place was half empty, but after half an hour of sitting at the bar we had not yet our table. The employees seem quite stressed and badly organized. We didn't eat, but we didn't want to spend money for a place that can't manage their bookings, staff or bar. See preoccupied with hotel guests and Hennpartys.

Lovely meal and service. We ate early 6.30 pm so it was quiet and lacking in atmosphere but we thoroughly enjoyed it and will return

The food was excellent, the decor and ambiance just right and the service friendly.
