When we arrived at the venue, we had to find the chef ourselves to determine which foods to avoid. It’s important to note that cross-contamination can occur not only from the allergens themselves but also from shared equipment or facilities. For example, tree nuts might be processed on the same machinery as peanuts, and sesame oils can easily become contaminated with peanut products. I asked Laura if there was a menu available that listed ingredients or allergens. Instead of understanding my request, she mistakenly thought I wanted to see the bride’s family contract—not what I was interested in at all. My only concern was ensuring my daughter’s safety and preventing a potentially life-threatening incident. After returning home, I texted Laura to express my frustration about not receiving any follow-up and having to seek out information from the chef. She called me back and responded in a very unpleasant tone, claiming she never promised to get back to us and that I had no right to see the contract or menu details. When I reminded her that she had asked for my email address under the premise of providing menu information, she simply raised her voice instead of addressing my concern. I found her behavior unprofessional and frustrating. My daughter has attended numerous catered events without encountering such poor service. I’m honestly shocked that The Ashford Estate would partner with a caterer that lacks professionalism and knowledge about food allergies. It's crucial for any caterer to be prepared with allergy information, as many people have dietary restrictions. Laura needs to improve her understanding of customer service and professionalism if she wishes to remain in a public-facing role in this industry. Perhaps one day, if she were to have a child or grandchild with severe food allergies, she might see things differently.
I’m a wedding planner, and I recently organized a wedding for a client on July 9, 2022. It turned out to be an AMAZING night! From the very beginning, Laura was incredible. She responded to all my emails incredibly quickly and made sure my clients had a wonderful experience. Throughout the evening, many guests complimented the excellent food. As a special surprise for my clients leading up to the wedding, Laura set up a cacio e pepe station with a large cheese wheel for making the pasta. How thoughtful was that? It didn’t end there—Megan, our Maitre D, was fantastic as well. We worked seamlessly together. When the night came to a close, my clients and the parents of the bride approached me and raved about everything. This place is a fantastic option for takeout meals during those hectic weeks when I don't want to cook. Plus, their fried chicken is the best in town!

The barbecue sauce on the ribs I ordered was inedible, forcing me to throw away $30 worth of ribs.
