What meagabug doesn't like about Battle Street Bistro:
Despite having dedicated an entire section of their menu to vegan options, I found that the choices were somewhat disappointing and seemed to be crafted by someone who isn't familiar with vegan cuisine. So pleased to see a downtown Manassas restaurant with vegan options (5! . They are doing paper menus now and for some reason keep the vegan menu on a separate piece of paper you have to ask for. Have tried 3 of the 5 of the menu items which are good. Portions are not large but are filling. Drinks are good too and servers are friendly and helpful.
This restaurant offers several vegan options on a dedicated vegan menu, making it a perfect spot for diverse groups, including your meat-loving friends. The ambiance is beautiful, and they serve great drinks. The outdoor seating area is fantastic, and there's live entertainment on the street, which adds to the experience. It's an incredible date night destination! The vegan dishes were hearty and delicious as well.
For a restaurant that has dedicated a whole section of their menu to vegan options, I found this area to be quite lacking and clearly designed by someone who isn't well-versed in vegan cuisine. Upon arrival, I noticed that none of the options included any protein; for instance, there was no tofu in the stir-fry and nothing else substantial to fill you up. Less than an hour after leaving, I found myself feeling hungry again. I tried the pasta, which desperately needed more salt or at least a sprinkle of nutritional yeast on top.
I ordered the vegan shakshouka, and it was excellent.
This cozy little restaurant is nestled in Old Town Manassas, offering incredible food, fantastic Manhattans, and a friendly, inviting staff. I highly recommend it!
