As of February 2023, the restaurant has been completely demolished and no longer exists. It used to be a symbol of old Boracay but was closed in May 2018 for the island's rehabilitation and has never reopened. The building is now in a state of disrepair and could collapse at any moment. From the back, you can see overgrown weeds and discarded household items, as shown in the attached photo.

Boracay has experienced a significant transformation lately, and although The Red Pirates might have lost a bit of its original charm, it continues to be an important part of the local beach culture. Imagine this: fresh fish grilling on the fire, the rhythmic sound of drums by a beach bonfire, and people dancing on the sand. I found myself in a cozy hut made of palm fronds, under a large "One Love" flag, savoring a cold San Miguel beer. The highlight of my visit was hearing Old Man perform a solo acoustic version of "Redemption Song." It was a deeply moving moment that truly made my experience unforgettable.
