What Alberto Nicolis dislikes about Red Pirates:
As of February 2023, the restaurant has been completely demolished. This small establishment, once a symbol of the old Boracay, closed in May 2018 for the island's rehabilitation and never reopened. The building now stands in a state of disrepair, at risk of collapsing at any moment. From the back, you can see overgrown weeds and discarded household items, as shown in the attached photo. Boracay has experienced a significant transformation lately, and although The Red Pirates might have lost a bit of its original charm, it continues to be an important part of the local beach culture. Imagine this: fresh fish grilling on the fire, the rhythmic sound of drums by a beach bonfire, and people dancing on the sand. I found myself in a cozy hut made of palm fronds, under a large "One Love" flag, savoring a cold San Miguel beer. The highlight of my visit was hearing Old Man perform a solo acoustic version of "Redemption Song." It was a deeply moving moment that truly made my experience unforgettable.

The best bar in Boracay! It truly feels like family, and I have created some of my most treasured memories here.
