Donnybrook Fair - Malahide

I ordered two chargrilled chicken sandwiches for a total of $13.00, and we also had two 330ml Krombacher Pils beers. Our total bill came out to be $16.98. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant was a pleasant place to dine. They had a good selection of items on the menu.

I couldn't eat the fish cakes as they tasted stale. I tried to add photos to show them, but failed multiple times.

Donnybrook Fair claim that they have a mission to source and provide the finest quality ingredients for its customers . Well they have failed miserably in their mission. We were looking for tea and a scone or cake. There was a very poor selection and not much of that. It was displayed unhygienically with no form of screening. The service was slow and disinterested. When it did arrive the carrot cake we settled for was stale and dry. Everything about the outdoor seating area was dirty and decrepid. Table, chairs, floor, screens, the lot. The prices were eye watering especially considering the very poor quaility. Won 't be going there again.

Where to start . Staff were rude on counter . Clearly uninterested in being there . Had to go back inside and ask for a bottle opener. Sat outside where tables were covered in bird excrement and not cleared off (food left on tables). Took forty minutes for two sandwiches to appear out to us. No apology for the delay (cafe wasn't that busy either) , wrong order brought out. When we asked for what we ordered we were told that this is what we had ordered. In the forty minutes we sat outside not one staff member appeared out to clear tables , another customer had to request that somebody came out to clear them as the birds were near enough attacking people . Desperate altogether. Would've gotten better service in a chipper at 3am. Furthermore portions were so small (one slice of bread each) we went across afterwards and had to order chips as we were still hungry .

My wife and I were walking about Malahide with our dog and the only place we could rest and have a coffee with dainties was at Donnybrook Fair in Malahide, We chose this restaurant because it has outdoor dining which is what we needed. The food was delicious and our service was to the table and was delivered with a smile. It was all very reasonable too. This is a place all dog lovers should call to for the simple reason that it caters for us pet owners. There are two areas one covered seating and the other is open air.
