Even if I didn't have what I had to do to make it so good, I would still come here. the ladies are beautiful, the ice cream is dreamy, the fish n chips are perfectly cooked and have large portions. the view is so spectacular his journey from tauranga also only coffee, cake and watch the ozean. What User doesn't like about Maketu Beachside Cafe:
Food was drowning in oil, inedible, soggy, disgusting and not to mention quite expensive. What made it worse is the staff agreed with us and said all the other customers think so too but then couldn't do anything about as the manager didn't want to talk to us. In the end one of the staff refunded us for one of the meals but they had taken both away. $54 on two meals that we ate less than half of, they took them away... View all feedback.

We visited the maketu cafe Thursday 4th august 2022 and had the pancakes with speck, cream bananas and maple syrup. it was absolutely delicious! the position was amazing to be directly on the water, meant that they come the waves and boats and go from the mouth. so a beautiful day and even better made by the friendly helpful staff. fortunately we would move back from mount for the coffee and cake from the cabinet.
Had a flat white and a kiwifruit ice cream. no fear of the price of ice creams $7) as they are big. coffee was also in front of location and they have a pretty thorough coffee menu for a small city. the location is great, the place is clean and tidy, people are friendly. great place.
We had a late lunch, but we ordered all-day breakfast food. The food was delicious! It is a lovely spot for a relaxing afternoon meal.
Good service, but somewhat expensive and would not recommend the steak or the mushrooms
