I'm rarel... read more I just had to take a quick stop to Yardstick, a third wave coffee place that's been winning the hearts of many, not just Makati workers and residents. I'm rarely in the area for its high density that always causes traffic havoc. The place is very spacious, high ceiling with modern industrial look to it. Few spots of the area could also remind you of a warehouse. Interestingly, the wait staff wears casual clothing just like regular customers, this part could confuse. I was when a stranger assisted me out of the blue. My friend and I shared 9 oz. Cafe Latte with two teaspoons of muscovado sugar. Their beans was strikingly strong with its natural sweetness still very much felt. My valid complaint here was temperature. It was rather cold. Oh and they only have full cream milk, what a shame. The Purple Yam waffle was quite shocking. The look was rather instagramable but its waffle had no resemblance of what I expected. I thought they will serve me purple yum flavor but instead it came with Big Scoop Ube flavored ice cream. I felt cheated. And why is the waffle so thick? The Php 290 Salted Egg and Bacon pasta however was spectacular. From its firm noodles, on point salted egg taste and well for adding significant bacon. Kudos as well to its creaminess and rough texture all in one plate. alwayshungry.ph

The coffee, Yardshake (their take on a double espresso iced coffee) and ice chocolates are delicious. The signature breakfast is amazing. The dip compliments all the fresh ingredients. The caramel waffles are the customer favourite and you can immediately see why. The waffles are fluffy, light and crunchy soft and the caramel ice cream is rich but not too sweet. Great service and a cool little cafe! A must in Makati.

It's a nice place to stay to have intimate conversations, business meetings, and get together with friends. Staff is very attentive, and the ambiance of the place is minimalist industrial chic. One of the best cups of coffee we've had.
